Butch Walker, qui est impliqué depuis Under My Skin, produit Stop Standing There.

Here we are. Avril's fourth album. When The Best Damn Thing came out, we didn't think being able to hold this CD in our hands four years later. A more mature, simpler, deeper album. If the first single What The Hell sounds more like The Best Damn Thing, the rest of the album reveals a new face of Avril's talent. The rythm sounds more acoustic, the most important is now the lyrics and Avril's vocal performance.

It took four years, a much longer period than usual, before this album came out. It seems that Avril has some problems with her record company, which excepted from Avril pop songs which could be broadcast on radios. Beside, Avril speaks about the problem with her record company in a message written for her fans. You can find this message HERE.

For the first time, Avril produced two songs of her album: 4 Real and Goodbye. There's no surprise concerning the people who participate to the conception of this album. Deryck is here, who produced most of the songs. Evan Taubenfeld participated again in writing with Avril. What's more, you can hear his voice on the song Push. Buth Walker, who has been working with Avril since Under My Skin, produced Stop Standing There. Max Martin, who made smash hits for Britney Spears or Pink, bring a more comercial part with What The Hell or Smile.

Goodbye is one of the most touching song Avril has never written. We also love Wish You Were Here, Stop Standing There, Everybody Hurts, I Love You, Darlin... Black Star, which was originally written to promote her first fragance, is also a very good surprise. The only song which affects us less is 4 Real. The musical arrangements are well-made, and it is a pleasure to discover each song.

This is here the simple edition and the Canadian version of Goodbye Lullaby.
