Le 4 novembre 2013, le cinquième album d'Avril, sobrement intitulé "Avril Lavigne" est disponible. Si les deux premiers singles Here's To Never Growing Up et Rock N Roll restaient très similaires à ce qu'elle a l'habitude de composer, Avril nous surprend en nous livrant un album profond et mature. La couverture donne le ton en présentant une Avril plus sombre, coiffée d'un chignon original. La comparaison avec Black Swan est difficile à écarter. En écoutant l'album, on retrouve des rythmes chers à Avril, comme sur Seventeen, Sippin On Sunshine, Bitchin Summer, mais également des titres très originaux, comme Bad Girl chanté avec Marylin Manson ou Hello Kitty, chanson très électronique déviant totalement de l'univers habituel d'Avril. Give You What You Like est un titre sombre à connotation sexuelle qui reflète à lui seul l'esprit du cinquième album. Avril revient à ses racines avec des textes forts et des mélodies puissantes comme à l'époque de Under My Skin. Hello Heartache et Hush Hush ne laisseront pas indifférents. C'est avec un grand plaisir et une certaine émotion que nous retrouvons donc Avril avec son cinquième album.

Il s'agit ici d'une édition exclusive pour le magasin américain en ligne Target. La couverture, différente de la version originale car tachetée de bleu et de rouge, a été choisie suite à un vote en ligne par les consommateurs. Cette édition ne pouvait être que commandée sur internet et durant une période limitée. Certains exemplaires étaient signés par Avril et envoyés de façon aléatoire aux acheteurs. Nous avons réussi à se procurer un de ces exemplaires signés. Le disque inclut l'acoustique de Rock N Roll.

On the 4th of November, Avril's fifth album, which is simply called "Avril Lavigne", came out. If the two first singles Here's To Never Growing Up and Rock N Roll were quite similar to Avril's previous songs, she succeeded in surprising us by producing a deeper and more mature album. The cover sets the tone by showing Avril with a darker face with a nice chignon. It is difficult not to compare this image with Black Swan. By listening to the album, you find some typical rhythms like with Seventeen, Sippin On Sunshine or Bitchin Summer. But there are also unexpected songs like Bad Girl with Marylin Manson or Hello Kitty, which is a UFO with an electronic sound in Avril's universe. Give You What You Like is dark and has a sexual connotation, it well symbolizes the spirit of this fifth album.  Avril returns to her roots with strong lyrics and powerful melodies like during the Under My Skin era. Hello Heartache and Hush Hush won't let you indifferent. We are very pleased and quite moved to meet once again Avril with her fifth album.

This is here an exclusive edition for the American online shop Target. The cover, with blue and red dots, is different from the original version. It was chosen by online users thanks to a poll. This edition could be only ordered on the internet during a limited time. Some copies were signed by Avril and randomly sent to buyers. We succeeded in obtaining one of these signed copies. The disc includes the acoustic of Rock N Roll.
